Hey Buzz, great news! The greenhouse is finished and programs for its use are starting. Canterbury School is exited. The final interior photos were taken and I will get the disk in the mail to you by tomorrow. There are many pictures on the disc -you can hunt and pick those that you like. Note: they are not in full construction sequence. You have permission to use any or all of them for any of your own purpose.
Thanks again for a great product and great service. I will recommend Gothic Arch with unbridled enthusiasm!.
Your friends at Canterbury School. Ted and Others.
Comments from students having taken Canterbury’s first Horticulture Science class.
1.“The semester I spent in the greenhouse was absolutely phenomenal. I learned much about plant life and how the greenhouse works as a system.”
2.“ I have gained a greater appreciation for the greenhouse in its ability to grow plants year round. I’ve learned that keeping a greenhouse going and functional isn’t as easy as it seems.”
3.“The greenhouse is sort of special to me because I helped to build it and I used it for this class and I feel like the greenhouse is a living school project that went extremely well.”
4.“I thought it was so interesting to grow plants in the greenhouse. This was the first time I had ever had the opportunity to grow plants in a greenhouse.”
5.“One of the things that has made horticulture science class so great is the hands-on aspect of it. No other class in the school comes close to this ratio of classroom time to hands-on greenhouse time. It’s nice to have a break in this AP dominated school and really be able to enjoy this valuable greenhouse resource.”
6.“The greenhouse has added a whole new dimension to the Canterbury Science Department. I hope to see the reach and use of the greenhouse extend further into school life. I would love to see Canterbury School providing well-rounded students with a deeper knowledge of hands-on applied natural sciences. This greenhouse and horticulture science class has been an excellent start to meeting that goal. “
7.“Before this course I knew basically nothing about horticulture and greenhouses. However, after taking this course, I have gained a great appreciation for greenhouses and what they are capable of doing.”
8.“I really had fun the whole semester but my favorite part was the last day when we all were eating things we grew”
9.“What a cool experience. I wish I could continue for the 2nd semester. “
“ Canterbury’s new greenhouse and the opportunities made available through a formal horticulture science class have shown to be an invaluable asset to Canterbury School’s curricular offerings. Being able to broadened a student’s awareness of the joys of watching a seed grow to maturity has been a rewarding opportunity for me this past semester.”
