IL2-MS - Irrigation Moisture

 The
Irrigation Moisture Switch, IL2-MS, is a unique new product
that easily controls irrigation by an accurate measurement of
soil moisture. Irrigation for landscapes, trees, crops
or vegetables is scheduled only when water is needed so water
bills may be reduced 30 to 50%. Irrigation with advanced
timing controls handle multiple schedules, but the controllers
need an automatic shut off when water is being wasted.
Typically an irrigation controller schedule is not aware of
saturated soil conditions caused by rain or over-watering.
Over watering plants causes root rot, lack of oxygen, and
disease. Water runoff and leaching not only wastes money
but often wastes drinking water, fertilizer and damages the
environment. The average homeowner, large of small
business does not waste time adjusting irrigation schedules
because the IL2-MS Moisture Switch kit handles watering
automatically.

The IL2-MSTM helps all existing controllers
since they do not monitor actual moisture conditions, weather,
and are not automatically adjusted by plant water need. The
sensor is plugged into the soil and buried in the root zone
where water is needed. The Moisture Switch regulates water
applied by continuously monitoring the soil condition at the
sensor, and interrupts the controller schedule when enough
water reaches the plant roots. As soon as the soil dries out
below the recommended set point, an internal switch closes
that signals the controller to continue irrigation as needed.
The Moisture Switch box comes with normally closed, normally
open, and separate hot or neutral outputs making several
connection options easy and reliable.

TH2O
- Soil Moisture

The
TH 2O
is the new way to measure
volumetric soil moisture content. TH2O
combines ease of use, accuracy, and low cost. Growers,
turf specialists, and scientists receive immediate precise
soil moisture data. The TH2O
takes accurate soil moisture samples with minimal disturbance.
By simply inserting the probe into the ground, actual soil
moisture percentage readings are given. Watering needs
can be quickly determined making it easy to remove the
guesswork and errors.
How does it work?
The sensor sends a
microwave signal and analyzes the reflection to measure the
dielectric constant (theta) of the soil. The dielectric
reading is then converted to volumetric water content (+/-1%
accuracy). The battery powered hand held readout
provides instantaneous readings for mineral or organic soils.
How do you use it?
The TH20 probe is inserted into
the soil and when the readout button is pushed the LCD shows
the soil water content as a decimal value.
You may also install access
tubes and take soil moisture reading from deep within the
soil profile.
