During the Burning Man Festival the
fabric worked very well in the wind. We had one “blow” 30-40
mph in the camp, probably more outside all of the vehicles.
Total whiteout. We had parked an RV on the most likely windward
side. The structure did shake some and the fabric billowed and
fluttered some. A neighboring Tyvek tent was totally shredded.
All of
the seams are multiple layers , usually wrapped around a strip
of poly tarp fabric to get 3 – 5 layers. The edges were then
over wrapped with a 2ply folded poly tarp fabric. Stitching is
3 – 5 zig zag stitches (or more). There is over a mile of heavy
duty upholstery thread in the tent. All sewn (barely) on an
inexpensive home machine.
